2nd Quarter 2014 Message

July 1, 2014

Dear Member:

At the June meeting, your Board of Directors voted to pay the prospective share rates for the second quarter.  Those rates were unchanged from the first quarter’s rates (please see other side of this sheet) and were also voted to be the third quarter’s prospective rates.
We continue to see historically low investment rates in the marketplace; this means share rates will stay flat for the foreseeable future.  The low rates continue to be good news for our lending rates and we would encourage you to email, call or stop in today to get pre-approved for that great new or pre-owned vehicle, ATV, camper or RV loan.  We also have a very good home equity lending program called HELOC.  The loan acts as an open line of credit that can be used for almost anything.  Check with your tax professional to see if the interest is tax deductible.
This past quarter, Karl Hoesly resigned as a Board of Director of the Utilities Credit Union.  A heavy work schedule and busy family life did not leave him enough time for his obligations as a Director.  While we hated to see him go, we thank Karl for his service and wish him well.   To fill that position on the Board, Jesse Anderson, Business Solution Center, was appointed.  Jesse has been with Xcel for 10 years and currently is a Team Lead on the Demand Side Management Energy Efficiency Team.  He experienced his first Board meeting in June and seemed to enjoy it.  Welcome aboard Jesse!  Congratulate him when you see him in the hallways.
A reminder about the Safety Fair that will be coming up at Western Avenue on Thursday, August 7, and a heads up to watch for our UCU booth at that event.  Stop by and say hello and pick up information and a trinket or two.  Word is that the booth will have the much in demand retractable badge holders (while they last).
If you have a question about an existing loan or about a possible new loan, remember that you can email the Credit Union at myucu@att.net and the staff will respond promptly.  You can also call (715-737-2467) and speak with someone between the hours of 10:30am and 1:30pm or leave a message on the Credit Union voice mail.  You can also check both lending and saving rates at our web site: www.myucu.org.  Heidi, Laurie, Carol or Dave will be happy to help you!
Have a great summer!
