3rd Quarter 2015 Message

October 1, 2015
Dear Member:

We hope your summer has been full of recreational activities and relaxation.  As always summers in Wisconsin are much too short and here we are in the beginning of the “color season” already.

For members with a UCU Visa credit card, credit cards with new chip technology will be mailed in the coming months.  The new chip-enabled credit cards will provide additional security for point-of-sale transactions.  Watch for more details on this conversion coming soon.  There will be no cost to you.

Housekeeping Note:  The reception area at Sky Park has moved to Door #15 (atrium entrance).  The UCU office will remain in the same location.  Non-employees can still use Door #1 (by the flagpole), but you will need to call us between 10 AM and 1 PM, Monday through Friday, and a UCU staff member will open the door.  If you request documents be left at the new front desk, we will make sure they are there by 1 PM.  Thank you in advance for your patience as we work through these changes.

For over a year now we have been hearing about an interest rate increase by the Federal Reserve in their “discount rate”.  There was speculation that it would finally happen in the 3rd quarter, but they chose to leave the rate at 0.25%.  The professional investment managers are now saying that a 0.25% raise will likely happen in the last quarter of this year or the first quarter of next year.  What that might mean to you: higher rates on your savings and slightly higher borrowing rates.  Beat the rate hike; stop in today and get approved for an auto loan or any other loan for that special purchase you would like to make.  Remember we have a great Christmas shopping loan and that is our “Kwik Cash” line of credit.  You can apply for up to $5,000.  Check our rates at myucu.org, then call us at 715-737-2467 or send us an email at myucu@att.net to get the paperwork started!  We are here for you.
