2nd Quarter 2016 Message

In the 2nd quarter of this year your Utilities Credit Union had our normal 18 month exam from the Department of Financial Institutions.  The Board of Directors met with the staff and examiners to listen to the findings of the examination.  They heard about what is going very well for the Credit Union and made a recommendation or two about what could be done to make the Utilities Credit Union even better.  The examination report was very positive and a big compliment was given to the staff for their excellence in adherence to policy and procedure detail.  The examiners praised the staff for preparing all the requested documentation (a big job) that made their job much easier.  The report indicated that the Utilities Credit Union is financially healthy but like all small credit unions, Utilities will continue to see earnings pressures because of low investments rates and market competition. He also thanked the Board of Directors for their excellent and conscientious oversight of credit union operations.

The onsite office location of the Credit Union has moved.  We are located near door 14 in the SE corner of Sky Park.  We will continue our great customer service from that new location.  A huge thank you to Traca Skogstad and Ron Frank at Facility Services and our Tech guys, Mark Larsen, Mark Brown and Ken Hagberg.  They made the move about as seamless as it could be.  Our office hour for walk-in traffic will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm 5 days per week.  You can also contact the Credit Union by phone from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm most days and don’t forget the email address at:  myucu@att.net and the website at: myucu.org.  Our savings and lending rates are always competitive and the convenience for those of you on automatic savings cannot be beat!
